Jazz and Gigi's Humans

Humans think they're Jazz&Gigi's owners, but of course they're positively wrong. We all know that it's always cats owning humans, not the other way round. Cats also call them “the two pawed critters”, but humans don't know it because they don't understand anything. Besides Mummy Human (or She-Human) and Daddy Human (or He-Human) we have Granny Human and Uncle Bigfoot, but we never see them.
Mummy Human often annoys the cats by making them model for her silly comics.
Luckily enough she makes an excellent stewed codfish, that's why they always forgive her...

Kara

I know it: the web is overflowing with cute, little kittens. But to me no one is cuter than Kara, my little princess.
She's so cute, sweet, tender, adorable, graceful and bewitching that her humans are often prone to believe that she's still the three weeks old kitten they met in 2008, and not the adult four years old cat she actually is. Sometimes they realize she's too tall and heavy to be a kitten. But this doesn't happen frequently.
Kara is lively, funny, very attractive and affectionate. She loves playing with her toys and having everyone, human or feline, watching her. She's very fond of Gigi, and she even looks like him, having his same colours, but the two of them are by no means relatives.
Although she's adult, Kara has never learnt to meow. She chirps, squeaks and peeps almost like newly-born kittens (or a duckling, a mouse, a chick...), and this helps a lot her humans' illusion.

Gigi

Gigi is the boss. He firmly believes it and no one would contradict him, simply because he weighs over ten kilos (nearly 24 pounds) and if he sat on another cat he could just squash that unfortunate feline.
Nevertheless, Gigi is exceedingly sweet and tender, the goal of his life being filling the world with love. Actually he thinks he's very, very small, so you can easily see him trying to squeeze himself in small boxes. It doesn't matter if he manages to get in them with his head only, because he always remembers that famous feline proverb that says that wherever the head goes, the rest of the cat may well go.
Humans call Gigi “the largest kitten in the world”, because they say that although he's that big, deep in his heart he's just a kitten. Being wicked, humans also call him “pigmy hippopotamus”, “short-nosed elephant”, “land whale” and many other names, but they don't tell him for fear of hurting his feelings.
Gigi loves eating, playing, eating, kissing and purring, eating, having his belly scratched and eating.
Did I tell you he likes eating?
His favourite dish is tuna. Well, actually he likes anything with fish in it, but he's simply mad about tuna. As you'll find out reading our comic strips...

Jazz

Jazz, the striped cat (“brown tabby mackerel” is the correct name for his colour) , is the oldest of the trio, being nearly 10 years old. That's why he thinks he should be the boss. Unluckily for him, actually the boss is Gigi although he's 2 years younger (but several kilos heavier).
Jazz has had a very sad kittenhood. He lost his mummycat when he was only a few days old and has been raised by humans. As a kitten he was very delicate and had to meet the veterinary several times, this made him short-tempered and rather unsociable.
Jazz and Gigi often scuffle about who's the real cat-boss. But in the end they always come to an agreement, especially when they want to do something without the humans knowing it.
Jazz's favourite dish is chicken.
Although his name is Jazz, he's a very Pop cat indeed.

Who are Jazz and Gigi?

Who are Jazz&Gigi? Easy: they're two comic characters. Aren't they?
No, actually they are two cats.
 I mean two real cats.
What? You see three cats in the picture?
Of course, I know it.
The smallest one is Kara. She made her debut when the title “Jazz&Gigi” was already well known, so she couldn't have her name in it.
But she doesn't really care because she perfectly knows she's a real star all the same.
Okay, I'll start from the beginning.
Jazz and Gigi, the real ones, are funny and lively just like any other cat.
But unfortunately their human mummy (me) is a scribbler writer and a comic author by trade (worked for Walt Disney comics, Mattel's Barbie, this sort of things...). So, being a scribbler writer (and a ©Peanuts fan as well), she just couldn't help turning her cats' adventures (real or imaginary) into comic strips.
The series started in 2006 on the web, then became a book in 2007 and now it's still a quite popular (hem...) series on the web in Italy.
Kara arrived in 2008, so you see we just couldn't have her in the titles...
